Jefferson County Council on Aging, also known as JCCOA, is a social welfare organization that works to meet the educational, recreational and health care needs of senior citizens. It maintains Jefferson County Senior Center, which offers residential care services and is supported by funds from the West Virginia Bureau of Senior Services, Upper Potomac Area on Aging and private donations. The council offers social work, nutritional counseling, and health and wellness support programs. It provides continuing educational, medical information assistance and in-home medical care services. Jefferson County Council on Aging also offers transportation, adult day care and congregation services, as well as home-delivered meals. The council focuses on promoting independence and minimizing the effects of disability or illness for individuals above the age of 60.
