National Mine Health & Safety
The National Mine Health and Safety Academy is the seventh permanent federal academy that joins the U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Maritime and U.S. Navy to serve the United States. The academy offers training to mine safety and health inspectors and technical support personnel of the Mine Safety and Health Administration. Located in Beaver, W.Va., its facilities include a residence hall, gymnasium, publication distribution center, mine rescue station, and administration, classroom, mine machinery laboratory, maintenance and equipment and mine emergency operations buildings. The National Mine Health and Safety Academy s students are served in various laboratories, including ventilation, electrical, machinery, industrial hygiene and underground mine
