Established in 1910, National Energy Technology Laboratory is part of Department of Energy s national laboratory system and implements a broad spectrum of energy and environmental research, and research and development programs. Located in Morgantown, W.Va., it has expertise in coal, natural gas and oil technologies; analysis of energy systems; international energy issues; and contract and project management. Additionally, National Energy Technology Laboratory conducts research and development through partnerships, cooperative research and development agreements, financial assistance, and contractual arrangements with universities and the private sector. It offers several public outreach programs, including speakers bureau, visiting professor program, adopt-a-school program, teacher training programs, high school science bowls, job shadowing for high school science, and in-school science and technology demonstrations.
