The Enumclaw School District #216 serves both Enumclaw and Black Diamond as well as several unincorporated communities. The district also works with Collins Alternative High School in concert with nearby school districts in White River, Orting, Sumner and with the Muckleshoot Tribal School through an interlocal agreement. The district has eight schools: Black Diamond Elementary Byron Kibler Elementary Southwood Elementary Sunrise Elementary Westwood Elementary Enumclaw Middle School Thunder Mountain Middle School Enumclaw High School As of 2008-2009, 4,394 students were enrolled in the Enumclaw School District. That breaks down to 1,806 children in elementary school, 1,062 middle school students and 1,526 high school students. The district's on-time graduation rate in 2008-09 was 78.7 percent, compared with the state's average of 73.5 percent, according to the Washington State 2009-2010 Report Card. The Enumclaw School Board has five members, elected by Enumclaw School District voters to four-year terms. They must live within the district boundaries in which they serve. The board meets one Monday each month. All board meetings take place at 6:30pm at the district office, 2929 McDougall Ave., Enumclaw, WA, unless otherwise noted. Offices of the Superintendent, for curriculum, assessment, staff development, student support services, as well as technology, human resources and the business office are located at the School District Office. The Enumclaw Schools Foundation (ESF) was founded in 2004 by community advocates and district staff to enhance and support academic and extracurricular programs in the Enumclaw School District.
