HistoryUnder the direction of founder Rick King, Blue Canyon Construction enjoys a lengthy history and reputable position among Seattle contracting companies. Our roots trace back to the late 40's, when Rick's father, Dale King, worked in custom home and commercial building. Also drawn to the construction industry, Rick joined his father to establish Irish Homes, Inc. in 1976 where they specialized in spec home building and land development throughout the Puget Sound region. When his father retired in 1988, Rick continued to successfully operate Irish Homes while also taking over construction management of Queen Anne Homes in the early 90's. In this new position, Rick spearheaded high-end spec home and custom home contracting projects primarily in prominent Queen Anne, Magnolia and Ballard neighborhoods. Always with an eye for aesthetics (Rick even worked as a clothing designer early in his career), in 1992 Rick retired the Irish Homes business with a solid reputation as a quality builder,SpecialtiesRemodeling and custom homes
