The Washington Outfitters & Guides Association is the only industry organization in Washington that represents outfitters, sport-fishing guides, horse and llama packers, white-water rafters, hunting guides, and other outdoor professionals who supply "outfitted services" to the recreational public in our state. Outfitted services are those in which the outdoor professional furnishes the equipment, livestock, all necessary tackle or gear, and the expertise needed to provide an outstanding recreational experience to those who may engage his or her services in the outdoors. Outfitters may be hunting guides who supply the horses, pack animals, and the camp for a prolonged big-game experience. The outfitter may furnish the same equipment to hikers seeking the challenge of Washington's back-country mountains, alpine lakes, or dedicated wilderness. Sport-fishing guides provide modern drift boats or jet sleds, state of-the-art tackle, lures or bait, and the intimate knowledge of the lake or river that helps insure the success of the outing. White-water guides, fly fishing experts, and light-treading llama packers offer exciting new ways to experience the magnificence of Washington's back-country. Our association is dedicated to the protection of the priceless natural assets of the northwest and to the fair and equal access to our natural resources for everyone. For many people, the outfitted trip is the only practical means of enjoying the rich heritage and timeless beauty of Washington. Most of all, our members are committed to the highest possible quality of the outdoor adventure.
