F.O. Berg was founded by Fredrick Oliver Berg in 1883 and is the oldest, continuously operating business in the state of Washington. The original location was on Howard Street in Spokane. Back then, as is true today, F.O. Berg Company produced high quality products, such as tents and awnings, with industrial fabrics. After the big Spokane fire of 1889, F.O. Berg Company was credited with building the 'Tent City' that housed businesses and residences during the rebuilding process. The company has relocated many times over the years and continues to grow and develop new high-quality products. In 1965 Spokane Tent and Awning purchased the company from Fredrick Oliver Berg's family. Since then, ownership has changed several times and today Bryce Ogle and John Worrell own all shares of the company.
