Here is one completely destroyed bearing set. And the other on the way to being destroyed. The down stems movement causes this.

Right after falling off. The inner raceway gets crushed by the bearings and shatters.

Right down stem assembly. Showing dowel hole larger, and lock bolt/screw/pin smaller.
