HistoryThe seeds for Celtic Arts Foundation (CAF) were sewn when Skye Richendrfer, the Founder and current Executive Director of CAF approached Skagit Valley College about hosting a Scottish Celebration of a Robert Burns Scottish evening in 1991. Featuring the world-class Simon Fraser University Pipe Band from Burnaby, BC, Canada this annual event quickly grew in popularity and led to the creation of the first Skagit Valley Highland Games in 1995, also held at Skagit Valley College. The success of the Games led to the creation of the CAF to assist with fundraising matters, and growth of events and activities has taken off from there. In 2015, a long term dream was realized with the opening of the 5700 square foot Littlefield Celtic Center in Mount Vernon, which now serves as the base of operations for CAF, as well as a state of the art event space for concerts, workshops and related Celtic activities.SpecialtiesThe Celtic Arts Foundation mission is to sponsor, encourage and promote Celtic Culture through events and educational activities. We produce a number of events in Washington State, many including top performers of Celtic music from the US, Canada, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland.
