HistoryMy name is Don Hopwood. I have recently moved to the Seattle area. I bring with me over 20 years of guitar experience. The last 14 years I have spent teaching and performing around the country. The idea of now joining this amazing musical community in Seattle fills my heart with excitement. My original guitar teacher was a blues man with amazing skills and riffs. I adopted many great skills from this man. Most importantly, I inherited his work ethic. To this day I am known to work through any musical problem that I encounter with tireless resolve. There are many ways to learn an instrument, but the benefits of private instruction are paramount to anyone wishing to learn the craft. Music is one of the great joys of my life. It is central in my every day enjoyment, and I wish to help budding artists better understand and appreciate how it can improve their lives.SpecialtiesI offer an encouraging and warm environment for my students, where we can create a better opportunity for success. Tailoring my lessons to the student's needs and skill level is very important to me. My lessons will focus on form and technique through various fundamental exercises to provide understanding of muscle memory and practice methods. Music theory and voice training will also be taught if desired. Or if you just want to learn songs and a few new tricks, you will also find my sessions ideal. Most importantly, I want the lessons to be enjoyable, productive and challenging for both of us! Let's find the guitarist/songwriter inside you!
