The superintendent and a board of education administers Sequim School District, with its office located in Sequim, Wash. The superintendent governs five schools that offer classes from grades kindergarten through 12, including two elementary schools, a community school, and a middle and high school, and enrolls more than 2,900 students. The schools offer courses that follow the requirements of the state education board and core subjects include English language arts, science, computer studies, social science and mathematics. Parents are a major part of the education system, with numerous opportunities for school support groups and parent training programs. Sequim School District encourages its schools to offer a wide range of sports, in addition to membership in service organizations, honor societies, student government, publications and academic clubs.
