Seattle Pacific University has been operational for more than 90 years. One of the leading Christian universities in the Pacific Northwest, it enrolls more than 8,000 undergraduate and graduate students annually. Founded by Free Methodists, the university is based in Seattle, and has satellite locations throughout the state of Washington. It is approved by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, and Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education. Seattle Pacific comprises various departments, such as Blakely Island Field Station, on-campus bookstore, campus dining services and ministries, career development and conference centers, peer tutoring and learning divisions, and centers for relationship, scholarship and faculty development. The university offers majors in fine and liberal arts, vocational and instrumental music, professional studies and teacher education, early childhood development, reading and instructional technology, media management, English and creative writing, and mathematics.
