History
Rat City Studios began with Deb Schwartzkopf's drive for a personal studio where she could make artwork and hold educational workshops. Her return to Seattle, her hometown, was a clear decision to dig in and contribute locally. In 2013, Deb purchased her home and studio in a small unincorporated area of Seattle - White Center. Since then, Deb has steadily grown her portfolio of functional pottery forms as well as educational offerings. Rat City Studios has evolved into a communal clay establishment. It is home to Deb's production pottery studio, a community members' space for educational offerings, 3 semi-private artist assistant studios, and beautiful gardens where gatherings are hosted. Through these endeavors, people are brought together to connect with each other and feed their creativity.
