I've had dogs all my life. Then I got Ringo. DOG. All caps. He lived a tortured life, and not surprisingly, he had some aggression and reactivity issues. As I worked with trainers and researched how dogs learned, I became hooked. Fascinating and incredibly personally satisfying stuff, helping an animal learn how to be a dog, learn that he didn't have to be hypervigilant and that it was okay to . . . you know . . . just chill. Working with Ringo ignited a passion. Thus began my journey as a dog trainer. I have sought out the best mentors in the dog industry (Jean Donaldson, Susan Friedman and Bob Bailey) and have a network of smart, knowledgeable colleagues.
