The Public Works Administration provides community development services. It is one of the departments of the Walla Walla city in Washington. It is responsible for the planning, programming, construction, maintenance and operations of the city's infrastructure and utilities. It also offers community wildlife protection plan and health and wellness programs for public health and safety. It is responsible for the city s streets and wastewater treatment plants maintenance. The department maintains city-owned properties, and operates water mains, sanitary and storm sewers, streets, sidewalks, bike paths, bridges, traffic control systems and street lights. Additionally, its water division is responsible for the provision of safe drinking water to the residents of the city. It also operates the Equipment Pool Division that provides maintenance services for a wide range of city owned vehicles, such as loaders, police cars, fire trucks and trailers. It offers electronic communications maintenance services. The department utilizes containers for garbage collection and disposal, and offers recycling of residential hazardous and yard waste.
