History
Peninsula Credit Union is one of the nation's first community chartered member-owned credit unions. Our credit union is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who are elected by the membership. On September 19, 1935, the Rainier Pulp and Paper Company, Shelton Washington, Federal Credit Union was created. On August 11, 1958, a modification of the credit union's charter was authorized, making membership available to all residents of Mason County, and was renamed Mason County Federal Credit Union. Since that time other name changes have taken place as the charter has been expanded. Today, Peninsula Credit Union has over $180 million in total assets and our locations serve over 19,000 members in Mason, Kitsap, Clallam, Jefferson and Grays Harbor Counties.
