Peirone Produce Company is a producer of fruits and produce located in Spokane, Wash. Peirone Produce became part of URM in 1986, and now supplies URM member-owners the freshest produce in the market. URM Stores is a wholesale food distributor to more than 160 grocery stores and 1,500-plus restaurants, hotels, and convenience stores in Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington. The cooperative is owned by and serves its members, which operate under chain brands including Family Foods, Harvest Foods, and Super 1 Foods. It also owns the Rosauers Supermarkets chain and operates half a dozen cash-and-carry markets. Peirone Produce provides fresh fruits and vegetables. URM offers private-label branding, advertising, marketing, insurance, financial, and technology services to its members. URM Stores was founded in 1921 as United Retail Merchants, a cooperative of retail grocers.
