Founded in 1971, the Northwest Regional Council implements state and federal programs for seniors and people who need long-term care. It offers supportive services and community-based health care. The council offers funding to several programs related to respite care, adult day services, case management and family caregiver support. In addition, the Northwest Regional Council provides, case management, consultation, advocacy, and senior information and assistance. The council also offers contract services for the State Health and Recovery Services Administration, which operates as a broker to provide Medicaid interpreter services to assist medical providers who serve Medicaid-eligible, limited-English-speaking clients. It maintains an office in Bellingham, Wash.
