Nathan Hale High School provides educational opportunities to more than 1,000 students in grades 9 through 12. It is a member of the Coalition of Essential Schools, and offers a variety of academic courses, such as English, social studies, science, language arts, mathematics, fine arts, occupational education and Spanish. The school provides a range of extracurricular activities, including choir, orchestra, jazz band, drama and wind ensemble, and photography, bicycle, computer, debate, opera, robotics, Japanese, graphics, horticulture and chess clubs. It offers several athletic activities, such as soccer, cross country, golf, football, volleyball, gymnastics, basketball, swimming, wrestling, baseball, softball, tennis, track and field, lacrosse and Frisbee. The school also involves students in an associated student body, site and student councils, the National Honor Society and Future Leaders of America. It has a parent-teacher-student association that organizes fundraising events. Nathan Hale High School is a part of Seattle Public Schools and is located in Seattle, Wash.
