Bruno Auto Repair is a no-frills, cash-only auto repair shop that serves a largely Hispanic clientele, according to Imelda Bruno, who runs the business with her husband, Carlos, the lead mechanic. “Many Hispanics are working people who drive older, more inexpensive cars,” she explained. “We help our customers by keeping these cars running as long as we can.” The shop has a tow truck, and offers rates about half the usual for towing companies, Imelda Bruno said. The Brunos opened the business in 2004.
