History
Methow Recycles was envisioned by a group of individuals who imagined a community with easier and more comprehensive access to recycling. Since opening in 2002 Methow Recycles has facilitated the diversion or recycling of over 8,800 tons from the waste stream through our operations at the recycling center in Twisp. Volunteers touch almost all of those tons, and our buyers count on the high quality they produce.
Specialties
Methow Recycles is about much more than cans, bottles, and boxes, though we encourage recycling of these and much more. We serve the diverse people of the Methow Valley and are a valued community hub and informational resource. All Methow Valley recycling comes through our facility, delivered by self-haulers and the local commercial hauler. We are a not-for-profit enterprise supported by donations, the sale of our materials, fees for service, and grants. A volunteer board of directors governs and the Executive Director manages the organization.
