Students ranging from Kindergarten to 8th grade attend Madrona. As an ungraded school, students are not separated by a single grade level, but instead are enrolled in "centers" that group three grades together. Each center is comprised of 50 students and two teachers. Kindergarten students, however, are taught in their own classroom. Madrona also enrolls students from the North Puget Sound Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program. Parents opt to enroll their children in Madrona, and since demand exceeds capacity, a lottery is held each year.
