Lenz Enterprises Inc. is a family-owned sand and gravel, composting facility, and trucking company serving residential and commercial customers. Lenz Enterprises was incorporated in 1985 and began as a sand and gravel wholesaler. Situated on 140 acres in Stanwood, WA we've worked hard to expand operations and to build a reputation for providing prompt, skilled service, and for stocking a full range of quality products from gravel to topsoil to mulch. In recent years we've added many new services, including a commercial composting facility. The mission of Lenz Enterprises' recycling and composting facility is to preserve and enhance the environment by providing cost effective composting of farm residuals, paunch waste from meat packing, land clearing debris, and yard/food waste from commercial and municipal customers. Recycling services include; stumps, brush, untreated wood, yard waste, food waste, sod, soil, asphalt and concrete. Theses services are beneficial to all people of Snohomish County and surrounding areas by providing alternatives to landfills. As we expand our commercial compost facility we have also undergone a re-branding of our compost products under the name GreenBlenz Compost. GreenBlenz Compost is an organic material that is an excellent soil amendment or topdressing. GreenBlenz Compost is dark brown and has a soil-like, earthy smell. We create GreenBlenz Compost by blending organic wastes such as yard trimmings, food wastes and manures in proper ratios then composting in a three-stage process: STAGE 1 - Organics are composted under carefully controlled conditions using the Aerated Static Pile (ASP) Composting System. This process supports high temperatures and high oxygen levels to sanitize the material, kill weed seeds, and initially stabilize the compost. STAGE 2 - The compost is mixed, aerated and watered in a Trapezoidal Mass Bed Composting System to further stabilize the compost. STAGE 3 - The compost is cured when the active composting stage is nearing completion. Benefits of composting and compost use: *Contributes to a significant reduction in waste volume that is landfilled. *Supplies beneficial microorganisms to soils *Increases soil organic matter *Reduces or eliminates the need for chemical fertilizers. *Promotes higher yields of crops. *Avoids methane and leachate formulation in landfills. *Reduces the need for water, fertilizers, and pesticides. *Extends municipal landfill life by diverting organic materials from landfills. *Is a local sustainable solution.
