Founded in 1972, the Korean Women's Association is a nonprofit organization that provides multicultural and multilingual services to limited English speaking immigrants. It assists several poor people, senior citizens, low-income families, disabled individuals, immigrants and refugees. The association serves the Pierce, Thurston, Lewis, Mason, Clallam, Jefferson, Grays Harbor and Snohomish counties in Washington. It provides ethnic-based programming, as well as provides children with opportunities for socialization and integration with people of similar interest, backgrounds and languages. The Korean Women's Association offers recreational and educational activities on certain programs and services. Its social services include peer mentoring, health promotion screening and therapeutic exercises, such as stretching and walling. The Korean Women's Association maintains a location in Shelton, Wash.
