The Richmond Beach Library, located off Richmond Beach Road on 21st Ave. N.W., has been in its current home since 2001, but its roots in the community go back to 1899. Managing librarian Anina Coder Sill grew up in Richmond Beach and has many stories to tell about the area. She has worked at the library for 36 years. The library is "busier than ever and appreciated by the community and vice versa," she said. The children's area features a life-size, 32-foot fabric octopus made by local artists Lynn Ahnen-Turblom, Susan Williams and Ann Blanch. A watercolor ocean scene is also painted on one of the walls.
