The Office of Information Resource Management, also known as OIRM, is a part of King County in Washington, which spreads across an area of more than 2,100 square miles and has a population of over 1 million people. It is a central information technology organization that serves residents and public agencies. The office develops plans with annual updates to establish objectives for information technology investments. The Office of Information Resource Management operates, maintains and supports technology infrastructure, systems and business applications. It includes the Office of Cable Communications, which was established in 1986 to negotiate, monitor and enforce rules set forth in cable television franchisees held by companies. The Office of Information Resource Management administers a countywide information technology business continuity program.
