Located in Kent, Wash., the Parks and Open Space Division, a part of the Parks, Recreation & Community Services, offers maintenance services for more than 1,350 acres of parks, trails and open spaces. It provides landscaping supplies and equipment, as well as assists with various community special events. The division maintains and plants street trees. It also prepares sports fields for soccer, baseball and softball matches and tournaments, as well as offer adequate seating arrangement, restroom cleaning, field mowing, and infield dragging and lining services. The Parks and Open Space Division has been named "Sportstown, Washington" by the National Recreation and Parks Association. Additionally, it undertakes a variety of life cycle improvement and park beautification projects.
