The Housing Authority of Thurston County has been providing and affordable housing opportunities since 1971. It assists families and individuals to secure long-term, permanent housing. The authority offers a variety of tenant- and project-based rental assistance programs. Its Family Self-Sufficiency program offers transition to working households from rental assistance to financial independence. The Housing Authority of Thurston County s transitional housing program provides temporary rental assistance while families seek permanent housing and addresses various issues that lead to homelessness. It owns more than five housing sites in the areas of Olympia, Lacey and Tumwater in Washington. The authority s housing rehabilitation program provides a deferred-payment, zero-interest loan to repair owner-occupied housing units.
