Mission Statement Upon his death, the body of our Lord was reverently attended to by faithful women and men, and buried in a tomb. Mindful of this example, THE CATHOLIC CEMETERIES OF SPOKANE are committed to providing a sacred place for the burial of the deceased members of the body of Christ. During this most difficult of times, we dedicate ourselves to the proper care of the bodies of the faithful and heartfelt support of those who are in the midst of grief. When one enters the grounds of Holy Cross, St. Joseph, or Queen of Peace Cemeteries, the Church's teachings about life, death and life after death come to mind. Through liturgical moments celebrated at the cemeteries, we bear witness to Faith in the Resurrection. By developing and maintaining beautiful cemetery grounds, as well as proper facilities for burials, entombment's and inurements, we seek to provide an atmosphere that encourages visitation, enhances prayer and keeps the faithful ever mindful of our enduring bond with those who have gone before us marked with the sign of faith.Holy Cross Cemetery, St. Joseph Cemetery, and Queen of Peace Cemetery are available to all of the Christian Faithful, whether they are active members of a parish, the inactive or alienated, non-Catholic family members, or others who may have special reasons for burial at Holy Cross, St. Joseph, or Queen of Peace. We minister equally to the poor who should be treated in death, as in life, with dignity. The staff of our Catholic Cemeteries offers an ecclesial ministry to those whom we serve. Office staff, field personnel, family service representatives and board members all participate in this ministry by providing assistance to families as they cope with the hard reality of death. We can be of assistance not only at the hour of death, but also, through our counseling staff, in advance of need, thereby easing the stress experienced at the time of a death.
