History
Hobart Food Market is a family-owned grocery store/gas station with a US Post Office located within. It is the hub of the Hobart community, serving residents and outlying communities since 1946. A grocery business has been on the site since before statehood in 1889. In 1903, the town of Hobart was named after the Vice President of the United States, Garrett Augustus Hobart. The store is currently owned by the Iverson Family, who have been involved since 1909, back when it was a company store for the Wood & Iverson Mill.
