Founded in 1946 in San Francisco, the company operates more than 120 independent stores in Arizona, California, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and Hawaii. It provides groceries, such as frozen and refrigerated foods, deli items, produce, fresh meat, general merchandise and seasonal products. In addition, the company provides housewares, toys, gifts, health and beauty products, and beer and wines. The company employs approximately 100 individuals and has operator agreements with nearly 120 independent business people. The company offers channels of distribution and convenient reconditioning, relabeling and package modification services to more than 2,500 manufacturers. It also supports various community organizations, including Habitat for Humanity. Grocery Outlet is headquartered in Berkeley, Calif., and maintains a presence in Everett, Wash.
