Written notes are provided for all consultation visits, regardless of outcome. All design projects are individually priced (time and materials) to accommodate scope, complexity, effort to complete work, scheduling requirements, and include travel time to the site and/or meeting locations.A retainer is required to start all design projects. Initial consultation cost is included in the retainer for design projects. The remainder of the project cost is divided and deliverable at the preliminary review and final review meetings.Horticultural ConsultationIndividual consulting services are available on an hourly basis (two hour minimum). Our designer, Kate Easton, has earned the WSNLA professional designation, Washington Certified Professional Horticulturist (CPH).Landscape Designer Credentials Kate Easton has been practicing landscape design since 1991 throughout the western United States. Ms. Easton advises clients on ecologically sound maintenance practices, teaches and speaks for community groups, and writes about landscape design and horticulture topics for media.Ms. Easton was trained in landscape architecture, plant identification, pruning, plant management and evaluation, landscape maintenance practices, and irrigation design at West Valley College, Foothill College, and University of California, Santa Cruz. She has participated in design workshops conducted by James Van Sweden and John Brookes (renown landscape designers and authors). She was awarded departmental honors, 'Student Excellence - Landscape Architecture' in 1991 and 1992 at West Valley College. WSNLA named Ms. Easton 2011 'Educator of the Year.' The display she designed for the 2011 Pacific Northwest Garden Show won a Gold Medal.In addition to landscape architecture studies, Ms. Easton earned a Master of Science in Agriculture, a Bachelor of Science in Business and an Associate of Arts in Journalism. Ms. Easton has been an avid gardener since 1959.
