History
After much volunteering and working in the field for restoration ecologists, I started restoring slopes in slide-prone areas for my first Garden Cycles job, removing shallow-rooted ivy and re-planting with native trees and shrubs. I had to get a quick lesson from my Dad how to use a rope and harness, and get over my fear of heights! I kept adding clients, mostly properties with steep slopes and great views, and then landed my first big contract with the local municipality. I had to hire my first employee after a minor injury, and have been very fortunate to find people just as dedicated as I am to native plant restoration.
