Dunlap Towing Company is a family owned corporation that has been in the marine transportation business since 1925. Based in LaConner, Wash., Dunlap Towing has steadily grown into an operation of more than 25 tugboats, seven barges and nearly 225 employees. In addition to its corporate office in LaConner, the company has offices in Everett, Wash., where ocean operations are based, and in Olympia and Port Angeles Wash., where local harbor tug services are marketed. Much of the company s reputation has been built towing and handling logs in the Puget Sound region. It company continues to operate four log sort yards and 15 line haul and harbor tugs for those services. Dunlap is well established in a variety of ocean towing markets. These include the barging of general cargo, containerized cargo, oil and wood chips. Dunlap Towing Company also operates a ship assist service in Dutch Harbor, Alaska.
