History
Sensei Jordan Giarratano founded Fighting Chance Seattle in 2011. He was frustrated with experiences in mixed martial arts gyms and karate schools that lacked balance. MMA was too full of ego with little to no focus on fundamental techniques or underlying principles. Traditional karate lacked realism, modern training practices, and was too often steeped in dogmatic beliefs about the founder. His vision was to create a class that integrated the best of modern kickboxing with a traditional dojo experience. The dojo was named in honor of Sensei Jordan's teacher's school: Galli's Fighting Chance. Sensei became a student of Master Galli at thirteen. As the child of a single parent, a shy, awkward, and angry kid; Sensei Jordan found a refuge in his teacher's dojo. He became strong, self-confident, and became a teacher. Karate provided a path to true self at a very hard time.
