The Experimental Education Unit (EEU) was established in 1967 as part of the University of Washington College of Education and the Center for Human Development and Disability. Initially created to address the lack of educational opportunities for children with disabilities, the EEU now offers inclusive early childhood education for children with and without disabilities.
With a focus on practical research, hands-on training, and direct service, the EEU provides a comprehensive school community that promotes the cognitive, motor, communication, and social interaction skills of children from infancy through kindergarten, preparing them for success in elementary school and beyond.
