The Elks Lodge is located on 54th Avenue, next to the Washington Corrections Center for Women. It was established in August 1977 to serve the members in the Gig Harbor area. Since then, the lodge has adopted the nickname, "The Friendly Lodge." Today, it welcomes both men and women to join its ever-growing family of more than 350 members. As a non-profit organization, the lodge gives back to the community by holding fundraisers, donating to FISH food bank, helping sponsor the Boy Scouts of Troop 282 and more events. Every Friday, the members play Bingo after their weekly dinners. The current exalted ruler is D.C. Burns.
