El Bronco caters to the vaquero in everybody, whether they're the real deal from Sinaloa, or just a norteamericano wannabe. The stall in Lakewood's landmark B&I Marketplace is crammed with a staggering variety of western hats, fancy boots, silver-buckled leather belts and silk-screened shirts, most imported directly from Mexico. Owner Ramon Villagomez, who is from Colima, is proud of his wide selection of exotic boots, made from alligator, cayman, ostrich, lizard, eel and even sharkskin. The boots are handmade in Mexico, and many are beautifully embossed and ornamented. He carries cowboy hats — the kind known as Texanas — in both American and Mexican brands, including Stetson and El Eligido. (He also cleans and blocks these hats.) And for the homesick caballero, there's a large selection of Mexican music on CD.
