Headquartered in Spokane, Wash., the Division of Developmental Disabilities offers a wide range of services for people with developmental disabilities and their families. Its services include case management, alternative living, child development, family support, early intervention, nursing, occupational, physical and communication therapies, behavior management, counseling, and medical and psychiatric evaluations. The division also offers a wide range of other services, such as supported living, habilitation, and emergency and foster care. It offers an autism awareness program that provides information about autism and its cure and prevention. The division s alternative living services are instructional services provided by an individual contractor and focuses on community-based individualized training to enable a client to live independently. Its dental program provides oral hygiene educational training for people with developmental disabilities and their families, friends, caregivers and case managers.
