In 2016, Carhartt realized that the Bennett Block building was the perfect setting for the heritage-rich Carhartt iconic and active wear product. Today, Carhartt resides in the premier corner space of the Bennett Block building and steps were taken to preserve the original look of the building - showing off much of the original wood, brick, and steel which marries perfectly with the handsome and rugged fixtures utilized in the store. The store is centralized in the downtown district which is home to major retailers as well as a multitude of unique local shops and restaurants and is just steps away from the beautiful and historic River Front Park. Spokane enjoys fame for being the hometown of Bing Crosby, Hoop Fest, Bloomsday Race, hosting the 1974 World’s Fair, and the birth place of Father’s Day. Its robust economy of railroading, construction, foundries, and more, plus a large outer lying agricultural community, makes Spokane a perfect home for Carhartt retail. This location allows us to provide our iconic product to the consumer that knows and loves Carhartt, as well as introduce our newer and technologically innovative lines to a broader population. As our founder Hamilton Carhartt once said, “I believe when I make a sale I make a permanent friend.” We at the Carhartt Bennett Block Store believe this still holds true today – both within our store and throughout the collective Carhartt culture.
