HistoryMusic Man was started in 1969 or 1970 by John Peterson. John ran the company until 1983 when Don Driftmier purchased it from him. Don had been running his own DJ business since 1979 on Whidbey Island, then at WSU and had recently moved to Seattle when he agreed to take over for John. When Don purchased the company they were still using reel to reel tape decks, not because John was behind the times but rather that was State of the Art back then! Things have come a long way, from vinyl and tape to CDs and now fully compact, efficient and digital. Our mobile library now consists of over 40,000 songs and it can fit in your pocket!SpecialtiesMusic Man, Inc. is a Mobile DJ and Sound Production Company. We are located in Seattle but often travel out of the city or out of state or even out of the country for our customers. We have been in business since 1970, though our owner has been in the business since 1979. We do all types of events for all type and sizes of audiences. Weddings and Corporate Events are certainly our most common, but we can cater the music to you and your guests at any gathering. We specialize in playing the right mix of music and at the right volume for your particular event. We can add additional services like Monitors and Screens for Slideshows, Custom Lighting, Photo Booths and MORE.
