Briggs Nursery, founded in 1912, is a wholesale grower located in Elma, Wash. The nursery is one of the largest ornamental nurseries in the Pacific Northwest, the largest rhododendron introducer and producer in the world, and has one of the largest ornamental plant tissue culture laboratories in the United States. It breeds, propagates and grows a wide variety of specialty ericaceous plants, particularly rhododendrons. Briggs Nursery grows more than 1,000 plant varieties, including kalmias, azaleas, lilacs and perennials. The nursery employs various marketing tools, such as direct customer contact, catalogs, trade shows, brochures, seminars, pictorial materials, and an informational Web site. It sells to more than 35 states and over 15 foreign countries.
