Boys and Girls Clubs of Tacoma offer five-core program initiatives including arts, sports and fitness, social skills, character development and leadership development and education and career development. B&GCT, established in 1940, offers a range of after school programs for children and disadvantaged youth ages 6 through 18, and serves more than 10,000 youth. The club, based in Tacoma, Wash., provides prevention programs for youth that include gang, alcohol, drug, tobacco, teen sex and pregnancy prevention. Boys and Girls Clubs of Tacoma, a nonprofit organization, is affiliated with the national program of Boys and Girls Clubs of America.
