History
I began my practice in South Newfane, VT in 2009 and was there until 2013 when I moved to Seattle. Originally my office space was on East Madison St and 16th, by the Central Coop, but eventually that building was torn down. I am now happy to be practicing out of the clinic at Rainbow Natural Remedies on upper Capitol Hill.
Specialties
I am trained in the Worsley Five Element style of acupuncture, so that of course largely influences how I practice. I do however, sometimes incorporate other styles such as Japanese and TCM if it feels called for in a treatment. One thing that sets me apart from many acupuncturists is that I stay in the room with the client during the entire session. This allows me to more closely monitor the changes happening and modify the treatment if necessary. I will also usually practice medical qi gong (Chinese energy work) or cranio-sacral therapy on the client during this time. If I had to choose a specialty I would probably say stress-based illnesses such as anxiety, depression, insomnia, overwhelm, and pain resulting from stress and overwork. The Five Element model of treatment works very well with mental, emotional and spiritual imbalances, and I have had a lot of experience working within this realm. I also believe that most modern-day illness and disease is almost always a result of chronic stress patterns, and feel that if I can help a client remove some of their stress-load, there will be an automatic reduction of their symptoms.
