Established in 1978, Bastyr University is a nonprofit, private university, offering undergraduate, graduate and certificate programs in natural health and applied behavioral sciences. Bastyr offers a wide variety of programs, such as naturopathy, acupuncture and Asian medicine, nutrition and clinical health psychology, applied behavioral science, fitness and herbal sciences. The university is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, Council on Naturopathic Medical Education, Dietetics Education of the American Dietetics Association, Washington State Department of Health and Midwifery Education Accreditation Council. It has a fully stocked library with more than 11,000 books and over 250 journals, publications, video and audiotape collections and online resources. Bastyr has centers in Seattle and Kenmore, Wash.
