Yip is an innovative program that partners leaders from the U.S. military with leaders from universities across the United States to improve academic and leadership skills in disadvantaged at-risk middle school students. Through training sessions designed to ignite a passion for STEM-based learning, life skills, leadership, and character development, Yip aims to change the life trajectory of at-risk youth into the next generation of leaders, strengthening communities and the nation.
The program, staffed by NCAA student-athletes, university officials, and public school teachers, acts as a catalyst to promote positive development in low-income, urban-based, at-risk middle school students. Yip's mission is to permanently impact the lives of disadvantaged, at-risk youth, helping them overcome social-economic challenges and prospering communities, the nation, and the world.
