The Virginia Peninsulas Public Service Authority operates as a regional governmental organization, providing waste management services across 10 cities and counties in southeast Virginia. Based in Saluda, Va., the organization offers a number of management solutions for controlling solid waste products. It was established as a political subdivision of the state in 1989, under the Virginia Water and Waste Authorities Act. The division performs curbside recycling, composting, household chemical collection, computer/electronics recycling as well as commercial waste collection services.
