Neuro-optometry evaluates patients with visual complaints & double vision secondary to acquired brain injury (concussion, trauma, stroke, etc) and/or neurological disease (Parkinson's disease, MS, myasthenia gravis, Lyme disease). The neuro-optometric exam is a comprehensive & problem-focused evaluation of all aspects of vision from the eye to the brain that can be affected by damage to the central/peripheral nervous system. Diagnostic tests may include and/or evaluate how well the eye "sees", how well the eyes work together, how the eyes behave when head is moving, and how the brain interprets what the eyes see. Treatment options may include prism glasses, tinted lenses, orthoptics vision therapy, all depend on diagnosis & patient needs.
