History
In 1990, Paul and Youngsuk Estabrook bought an open pasture in Rockbridge County, Virginia. Together with their two children, they planted what would become Virginia Gold Orchard. The orchard currently consists of about 2,000 Asian pear trees, and an assortment of other fruits and nuts. Youngsuk Estabrook has spent the last 20 years developing new varieties and has personally grafted over 500 trees in the orchard with unique varieties of Asian pears that cannot be found anywhere else. Each piece of fruit is handpicked at the peak of ripeness, and if stored correctly can be kept for up to 6 months. Online mail ordering is available on our website.
