Virginia Air & Space Center, a museum located in Hampton, Va., was developed through the joint efforts of the city of Hampton and NASA Langley Research Center in 1992 with a cost of more than $30 million. The museum is a nine-story high building and is spread over 2-acres of land. It has an aviation gallery, with state-of-the-art exhibits spanning 100 years of flight. The aviation has the Apollo 12 Command Module, a DC-9 passenger jet and a replica of 1903 Wright Flyer. Virginia Air & Space Center offers rental facilities for cocktail parties, weddings and receptions, seminars, corporate functions and other holiday events. The Virginia Air & Space Center s corporate partnership program offers businesses the opportunity to support the Center s educational programs, traveling exhibits and IMAX films while receiving marketing exposure in the Hampton Roads community. The Virginia Air & Space Center is the visitor center for NASA Langley Research Center and Langley Air Force Base.
